Solar Panel Hotspot Detection flags visible heat anomalies in photovoltaic cells, modules and connections during a live inspection. It runs on-board and reports one Hotspot class as bounding boxes with confidence scores in DJI Pilot 2.
Inspect only while the array is generating under stable irradiance: a non-producing panel cannot reveal fault heat. Reflections, hot surroundings, dirt and thermal crossover can resemble or obscure hotspots. Each detection must be measured and investigated by a qualified person; the algorithm does not diagnose the electrical cause or replace a formal inspection.
