Thermal Bird Nest Detection assists ecological survey teams by marking warm nest signatures in the DJI Pilot 2 live thermal view. It reports one Bird Nest class and does not identify species. Detection is driven by the warmth of eggs or a brooding adult, not by the nest structure itself.
Cold or unattended nests may have little thermal signature, while vegetation and solid cover can hide heat from the camera. Warm rocks, ground patches, small mammals or birds away from nests may also be flagged. Confirm every detection and never treat the result as a nest census.
